How do you make sure your carers are trustworthy and trained?
All staff employed by Liloom Home Care Limited undergo rigorous checks before they are able to start working or visit you in your home. DBS checks (a criminal record check) are carried out which confirms that they are able to work in care. We obtain two references for them and ID verification, alongside developed values based recruitment practices.
All staff undergo full training, delivered through both in house and e-learning modules to ensure that they understand their role. Staff competencies are tested before they start work and they will shadow an experienced member of the team, before providing care to you. We aim to ensure any new staff will be introduced to you first to make sure you are comfortable and happy with the individual provided. Our training is refreshed regularly and staff are encouraged to identifying learning opportunities so we can help them develop and learn to help you.
What should I consider when choosing a care provider?
Choosing the right care provider can be hard, as can accepting that you need a little extra help to manage certain tasks. Although all CQC registered care providers work to the same rules and legislations, they can be vastly different.
Think about your care needs, what you expect from a care provider and how you want them to help? A good provider will always make time to plan your care and listen to what you want and need.
Costs can be a challenge, but remember, home care is still a lot cheaper than residential care and you get to stay at home with all your happy memories of days gone by.
